Stabler and his team have never been better in s5 "Law and Order: Organized Crime"

Detective Elliot Stabler is back taking on New York's most powerful crime syndicates! The highly anticipated new season of Law & Order: Organized Crime premiered on its new home exclusively on Peacock on Thursday, April 17, 2025, with two of its ten episodes. The binge-able series, led by Christopher Meloni as everyone's favorite, hard-nosed Detective Elliot Stabler, leads the Organized Crime Task Force of the NYPD and promises a thrilling season ahead.

Organized Crime, which first premiered on April 1, 2021, is the seventh series in the Law & Order franchise and a spinoff of Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which saw Meloni co-lead with Mariska Hargitay for 12 seasons. In 2021, it was announced that Meloni would reprise his character for the new spinoff where Stabler returns to the NYPD following his wife's murder, joining a new team led by Sergeant Ayanna Bell.

Besides the return of Meloni as Detective Stabler, the core group of cast members returning for season 5 includes Danielle Moné Truitt as Sergeant Ayanna Bell, Ainsley Seiger as Detective Jet Slootmaekers, Rick Gonzales as Detective Bobby Reyes, and Dean Norris as Randall Stabler, Elliot's older brother. Joining the cast this season is Jason Patric as Detective Tim McKenna.

Created and executive produced by Dick Wolf, Ilene Chaiken, and Matt Olmstead, with Meloni also serving as executive producer, the series is produced by Universal Television with Wolf Entertainment.

After ending on an explosive cliffhanger in season 4 with Stabler's brother, Joe Jr., handcuffed to a briefcase full of deadly Russian nerve agents, the new season begins with the team investigating human trafficking. The official synopsis for season five reveals the dangerous world of cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism, and a crime family intent on repaying Stabler for the injury he did them in Rome. As his worlds collide, Stabler will put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice.
