"Desire: A Temptations Story" is Lifetime's newest thriller, filled with deadly lies and secrets. The movie follows a talk show host who, after suffering a tragic loss, gets caught up in a whirlwind romance and spontaneously marries the man of her dreams. The whirlwind romance quickly becomes a nightmare as revelations about her new husband's past lead her down a dangerous path.
Following the success of the Seven Deadly Sins franchise, the thriller stars Tasha Smith, who also serves as executive producer, and Adrian Holmes, the first film under the Temptations franchise, helmed by Derrick Williams and Adriane Hopper Williams. The movie premieres exclusively on Lifetime at 8pm EST.
Directed by Robert Adetuyi with a screenplay by Kate Green, the film is executive-produced by DNA Media Group for Lifetime with Abraham Fraser, Ngozi Paul, and Breanne Laplante.
The official synopsis reveals Desire follows inspirational talk show host Kendra (Tasha Smith), who is at the top of her game when she faces the tragic loss of her mother. At the urging of her team, Kendra takes time off to heal her soul, and while on vacation, she meets the man of her dreams, Malcolm (Adrian Holmes). Taken by his charm and good looks, Kendra gives in to her desires and becomes caught up in a whirlwind romance, and spontaneously marries Malcolm. Once the newlyweds return home, truths about Malcolm's past start to come to light and he leads Kendra down a dangerous path.
Additional cast includes Jamall Johnson, Millan Tesfazgi, Miranda Edwards, Everick Golding, Requell Jodeah, and Diana Pavlovská.
The second film of the series "Fame: A Temptations Story" premiers next Saturday, April 26, and follows the Jordan Sisters, the pop singing sensation duo who face a home invasion involving a jewelry heist, however after the police investigate, evidence points to one of the sisters staging the crime, threatening their carefully crafted public image.
